"Word for Word's You Know when the Men Are Gone is a powerful and important piece of theater. Not to mention a beautiful and moving one."
—Chad Jones on Theater Dogs
Word for Word gives their signature theatrical treatment to Siobhan Fallon's gripping portrayal of the home front during the Iraq War, You Know When the Men Are Gone. These interconnected stories show another experience of war – how those who are left behind to carry on survive their daily lives, as well as what it’s like for the wounded vet “returning to normal.” The author has a first-hand knowledge of the military: Siobhan Fallon is the wife of an active duty U.S Army officer who has served multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Siobhan Fallon is a military spouse and writer who has gained acclaim from such diverse sources as The San Francisco Chronicle, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times, and O, the Oprah Magazine, among others, for her intimate and gripping portrayal of the wives and families of American soldiers deployed to Iraq.
