Australian Bushfire Benefit

Our family and friends in Australia are experiencing an unprecedented, extended and voracious fire event. Fueled by dry lightning strikes hitting bushland that has been suffering long spells of drought, the tinderbox ignited in late October and the fires are still burning now in mid January. On January 7 an estimated 25 million acres of land that have burned, 27 have died, 2000 homes have been lost and at least 1 billion animals have died in the catastrophic event.
Help us to raise funds for five Australian charities by joining this wonderful group of Bay Area artists in a concert, fittingly being performed on Australia Day, January 26. As you most likely are aware, any international charitable donation is not eligible for tax credit in a US tax return. Equally, as an organiser of this event, we are not registered as a “not for profit” organisation either. The ticket price is set at a very nominal fee to help offset the expenses of the event, being the support staff from Z Space, who have graciously waived the venue hire fee, and the small amount of print marketing we have done. We kindly ask that you show evidence of your donation to one of these organisations listed below and present your donation receipt along with your tickets to attend the event. If you want to have a tax receipt, you can consider donating to the US based charity below that will forward your funds directly to Australia for use in this crisis.
We have selected five charities benefiting those people and animals most directly affected by the fires. Tickets are $10 which covers venue expenses only. An additional donation directly to one of the following charities is required for entry. Computers will be available in the lobby of the event to accommodate direct donations to the following charities.
