Please Support Z Space For our 2020 Year End Campaign
It goes without saying that 2020 has been a difficult year for all of us, and Z Space is no exception. Although we’ve had to close our venues to public performances, we’ve been able to stay engaged in making art and serving the community, employing theater artists, technical staff and other creators while we do so. We are renewing our commitment to San Francisco for the new year with a number of specific goals and promises to our patrons, artistic collaborators, staff and communities.
This pandemic has put a halt to all ticket and rental income. Please consider donating to Z's Greatest Need to help us weather this crisis.
Word for Word is a program of Z Space. There is the option to earmark your funds specifically to Word for Word if you choose! Either way, you're supporting Z!

Among the specific actions we have committed to in the upcoming year:
Hire local actors, directors, designers, producers, dramaturgs, and technicians to create the WORD for WORDcast and KALW broadcasts with the goal of employing 130 local artists.
Partner with four local schools and the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria to provide exciting and educational virtual arts programming to 550 youth while employing 30 local teaching artists and teaching assistants through our Youth Arts program.
Provide artEquity anti-racism training to 50 Z stakeholders including board, full-time staff, on-call staff, teaching artists, and Word for Word Company Members.
Utilize the flexible mainstage space to host COVID-safe developmental residencies following strict safety protocols.
Host 5 civic conversations (online for now, and then hopefully in person) to engage in a dialogue surrounding topics relevant to the arts as it pertains to the community.
Keep true to our mission of camaraderie and collaboration by working as a team with a shared leadership model.
Stay vigilant and stay hopeful. We will open our space to audiences when it is safe for all of us to be together again.
Z Space is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization. We rely on the generosity of individuals and foundations to empower artistic risk, collaboration, and camaraderie amongst artists, audience and staff in the service of creating, developing and presenting new work. All donations by individuals are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Z Space's EIN is 94-3177230.
